The Evolution of the Skid Steer Loader

                                                                                                        June 15/07

With the introduction of the BullDog line of skid steer loaders to the North American market we are seeing the evolution of this cornerstone product in the agricultural, construction, forestry and landscape industry take another leap ahead in versatility and ability. Originally introduced in the late 70's as a specialty tool for the farm industry the last 30 years has seen a continual expansion of the skid steer loaders uses with the addition of various attachments and components such as flotation tracks; taking it well beyond the original concept of a restricted area loader.

Introduced in Canada at the Heavy Equipment Show in Toronto, the BullDog line now takes it up a notch. Manufactured in Korea by  Shinheung Industries using components very familiar to North American users ( Perkins engines, Danfoss hydraulics, etc) this complete line carries several models that are very revolutionary to this market. In addition to their full line of skid steer loaders BullDog offers a model designed specifically for the operator with major size restrictions, the first telescopic boom model seen on the North American market as well as a combination loader-backhoe ride on.

Combining the versatility of a mini track loader with the capabilities of a 6' excavator into the compact size of a ride-on is sure to make the EXL900 Excavator/Loader a money maker with the landscapers. At only 35” wide and 2500lbs the list of jobs that this one machine performs is very lengthy indeed while replacing two machines with one.

Backing up this unique product is the model B4230CS1 skid steer loader. Though powered with a 50hp Perkins diesel this little powerhouse is only 34” wide and 55” tall; making it the must powerful mini on the market. Access to all but the tightest of areas is now possible with this 1500lb loader. Labor savings alone are huge; as well as now allowing mechanization in areas where previously a machine of any capacity could not go.

BullDog also offers one of the first telescopic boom packages available on the market adapted onto the skid steer chassis. With the introduction of the B8250T we now see the first 80hp machine on the market with an extended dump height of over 122”! Loading dump trailers, center filling dump trucks and single-side off loading skids is now entirely possible with this extended boom machine. The extended reach of this 2400lb capacity machine expands its usefulness into job functions previously untouched by conventional boom skid steer loaders.

The complete BullDog line includes the usual safety and operator features we are accustomed to seeing on major lines as well as the usual high standard of fit and finish we are seeing on products out of Korea. BullDog are being distributed in Canada by Innovative Ag & Technology in Norwich, Ontario and Total Equipment Sales in Pickering.
